WE NEED YOUR HELP!

To help us to maintain the work and projects we produce in Bottle Alley.

As of June 2025 our 2 year project, agreed and funded by Hastings Borough Council and the Safer Streets initiative, to reinstate and maintain the artwork ‘Wavelength’, with the additional help of Trade Paints, and ‘animate’ the alley into a public space the town can enjoy, feel safe in and be proud of, will officially end.

Since June 2023 we have brought together over 370 volunteers to help us maintain ‘Wavelength’, held a free Music to Light show visited by over 1500 people of all ages in 40mph winds and held 3 successful art markets visited by over 20,000 people allowing 180 artists to show and sell their work, which helped launch a full time career for some.

Plans are afoot for another Art Market at the end of August ’25 and we are currently writing applications and seeking funding to make sure it happens as we know the demand is there from artists and visitors alike.

Why do we need funds and what would we spend any donations on?
The initial money we were given to buy paint and facilitate the painting for two years was also invested in the Music to Light Show and the Art Markets. The funding of such large public events are costly, when all heath and safety measures are taken into consideration alongside admin, management and time spent which for the most part have been given in kind by ourselves and our highly experienced event producer Gina Hewitt.

Any donations received will be used wholly for the purpose of supporting our activities in Bottle Alley going forward, be it for match funding, cleaning equipment, further paint supplies and access equipment, funding another free to attend Music to Light Show, event and activity insurance and signage among other things.

We’ve been encouraged to set up a donations account by many people who have contacted us to ask if they could support our endevours in Bottle Alley, financially in someway, and so we have set up a dedicated Paypal account to facilitate this.

If public and/ or further council support is forthcoming and we receive a positive response to this initiative we plan to set up a CIC (Community Interest Company) which will also consider the centenary of Sidney Little’s appointment as the Borough Engineer in 1926 acknowledging the West St.Leonards Bathing Pool site, the town centre underground car park and Bottle Alley alongside an ever evolving annual Art Market weekend and the Music to Light Showcases in the Winter months.

Any amount will be greatly appreciated and we’ll be setting up a dedicated thank you page on this website to acknowledge your generous support.

Sending many thanks and best wishes,
Dan and Neil ZEROH
